2010 Anegada Tree Lighting Ceremony and Flotilla in the British Virgin Islands.
You are invited to join a sailing flotilla like no other in the spectacular British Virgin Islands, 1 - 9th December 2010. This stunning destination is a chain of islands in the Caribbean, each with its own individual charm and history. By choosing to make this your vacation you are also supporting the work of Broad Reach Foundation for Youth Leaders, as a significant portion of your booking price will be donated to the charity, for which you will receive a charitable tax receipt. You will also find that to book a similar trip as an independent traveler would cost you substantially more.
This trip offers something for everyone. Whether you are an experienced sailor or relatively new to the sport you will enjoy the well-appointed 40 and 52 foot sailboats or 40 and 46 foot catamarans. Non-sailors are of course welcome to just enjoy the trip and leave the sailing to those who are experienced. Traveling as a family, friends or adventurous single the islands have something to interest all. Enjoy the many water and land activities that the islands offer, many only accessible to boaters or perhaps you prefer to relax on a tranquil, tropical beach.
The highlight of the trip promises to be the opportunity to share in the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the stunning reef island at the end of the archipelago, Anegada. For most this island is inaccessible without a knowledgeable skipper. You will be invited to meet the local community as join them as they prepare for the start of the holidays by lighting the tallest tree in the BVIs. Music, celebration and the unique Anegada vs. Canada hockey match will provide you with a memory of a lifetime.

Costs for the trip vary depending on the number in your party and how many berths are required onboard and flexibility is possible with this. Approximate costs per person are $1250 - $1800 depending on boat size and occupancy. Costs do include boat charter and insurance, food and drink provisions, some meals ashore and any transport, parks admissions and mooring fees during the week. Individuals are responsible for their own flights, transportation and hotel costs that they choose as part of their vacation.
