Jeanette is a multi-disciplinary iskwêw, independent dance artist, choreographer and professional Auntie of Nêhiyaw, Métis and mixed settler ancestry. Originally from Treaty 4 territory Saskatchewan, she is passionate about blending Indigenous and non-Indigenous dance practices together. She has been stewarding Métis dance & culture since 2009, with mentorship from Yvonne Chartrand. She is the co-founder of Métis dance collective Acuhko Simowuk (Dancing with Ancestors) and she facilitates her class ‘joy of jigging’ to all levels. She resides as a guest on the Ancestral and unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) əl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ/ (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territories, colonially known as Vancouver. movementhealing.ca
