“My name is Antoine Perreault and I’m a musician, mainly guitarist and I started a solo project 3 years ago, 2 years ago, in which I play guitar and sing.”

What do you love about Canada?

British-Columbia, I love mountains, I love Quebec.

What do you know about the Canadian maritime industry?

Nothing, expect there’s a school in Rimouski.

Have you ever traveled on a sailboat?

No, but I’d like to!

If you could leave on a sailboat tomorrow morning, where would you go?

I’d go to Norway, because there’s mountains and beautiful landscapes. People look inspiring. Because of the artists I listen to (Kings of Convenience, Aurora, Boy Pablo). But it’s always cold, that’s a bummer.

Did you have any expectations about playing one of your songs on a tall ship?

No, none!

What were your first impressions of the boat?

It was big, it was magnificent. The steering wheel (it’s a steering wheel, right?), it was pretty. And the big table, the big table was fun.

What was different compared to playing on a stage or in a studio?

The boat was moving a little, so I got a bit seasick during the live session, while I was playing. But it wasn’t that bad.

Do you think you’d be a good deckhand?

No, I get seasick and I think it’d annoy me to always be in the same room as everybody else.
