Hi, all.
My name is Islay and I live near the Great Lakes.
The closest Lake is Lake Huron. From up above Lake Huron looks like a dog’s head with an open jaw!
But there is no howling: only loud, loud wind and waves and I chased those waves with my sister Arwen but they always got away from us.
This Lake is huge! You can’t see the other shore at all. And its colour is teal, turquoise, dark grey and sometimes black: then it storms and thunders. It can be scary but also exciting.
Did you know that water is blue because water absorbs colours in the red part of the light spectrum? Like a filter, this leaves behind colours in the blue part of the spectrum for us to see.
I would like to share with you this short story and some video and jpgs from my family’s visit to Lake Huron in Bayfield, Ontario which is also called Bluewater region. Next time I will write about Lake Ontario, which is very different. Maybe you will write and share a story, too?
