Broad Reach Foundation is proud to present the inaugural Jilàsi for Youth Regatta.
Our regatta is in honour of our 20th Anniversary, the 4,000 youth we have engaged during that time, and the gift of Jilàsi, a beautifully restored Rhodes Offshore 40 that was recently donated, with great generosity, to Broad Reach by Ms. Marlys Edwardh, C.M. and Dr. Graham Turrall.
All sail boats are invited to participate in this afternoon of fun and excitement for everyone. The slowest boat to enter the race starts first, with the remainder of the fleet in hot pursuit. The first boat to cross the finish line will be declared the winner.
On Shore Activities
After the race, stay for more on shore fun: DJ, Jeff Chalmers, BBQ dinner, silent auction, games, pictures and awards. Don’t forget to stop by the ice cream truck to select a cone or sundae of your choice!
Two trophies will be presented on the day of the regatta:
- The Hans Fogh Trophy will be awarded to the boat that finishes first.
- The Broad Reach Foundation Jilàsi for Youth Trophy will be awarded to the boat whose crew raises the largest donation online to benefit Broad Reach Foundation.
The sailing instructions will be posted no later than 12 pm on Friday, September 14th
