The Generosity of the Sailing Community!
The Toronto International Boat Show is a perfect opportunity for the volunteers of Broad Reach to express their personal thanks and appreciation to the many members of the boating community who support our work – the development of youth potential through the sport, science and experience of sailing.
Volvo Penta has donated a brand new engine for “Orca,” (a 12 m ‘Screamer’) plus a financial contribution to help with the installation of the engine. The Senior Management at Volvo Penta has also been generous in providing advice and guidance for future fundraising activities in the corporate sector.
Canadian Yachting has published an article on Broad Reach in their latest issue, and Ontario Sailor and Boating Ontario have agreed to Publish articles in the future.
The Oakville Yacht Squadron, the Mimico Yacht Club, the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, the Etobicoke Yacht Club, and the Port Credit Yacht Club have all expressed interest in giving Broad Reach space in their regular newsletters to allow their membership to learn more about how Broad Reach is helping youth from disadvantaged circumstances experience the values that sailing can create. If sailors cannot support sailing, then who can!
As Broad Reach celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2018, we deeply understand how essential the generosity of the sailing community has been in sustaining our work – not for one year, or two years, or three years, but for twenty years!
And we look forward to appreciating all that generosity when the date is 2023, when Broad Reach celebrates its 25th Anniversary – thanks to the continuing generosity of the sailing community!
